The Defence Academy and the Worshipful Company of Educators

03 April 2019 / Categories: DA News and Events

The Worshipful Company of Educators have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish co-operative relations to mutual benefit.

This was preceded by a lecture by Air Vice-Marshal Luck on ‘Educating the Military Mind for the 21st Century; Being Comfortable with being Uncomfortable’. The lecture was exceptionally well attended and really struck a chord with the audience across all the sectors and levels of education represented. There was a strong feeling that there was more we could collectively do to address the nation’s education needs and that the Defence Academy was absolutely heading in the right direction and leading ahead in some critical areas.

The Worshipful Company was founded in 2001 and its membership includes a wealth of experience from a wide range of backgrounds associated with education. The MoU will allow us to inspire and support each other through sharing expertise, and through teaching and learning from each other. We are looking forward to building a firm relationship and are currently discussing ways that we can implement the MoU including taking up the Worshipful Company’s generous offer to sponsor an annual prize for Defence Academy staff.
