About this course

This course is a face-to-face programme delivered at the Defence Academy, Shrivenham. It brings together personnel employed in requirements management within the Defence Operating Model.

You will engage in syndicate workshops and exercises to practice and consolidate acquired skills and knowledge. Benefits will also be seen from presentations given by experienced requirement managers on their perspectives and lived experiences.  Throughout the course, you will deepen your knowledge through sharing professional experiences and best practice

What you will learn

The aim of the Requirements Management (RM) course is to enable requirements managers, UK military personnel and MOD civil servants from Front Line Commands and enabling organisations including DE&S and Defence Digital to acquire an understanding of the different stages of the existing requirements and acceptance process.

You will examine all aspects of requirement development and acceptance management activity.

Modules include:

*Role, activities, timing of activities and the responsibility of a requirements manager
*Communication of all aspects of requirement development/acceptance management activity
*Tools, techniques, and approaches to develop functional/non-functional requirements
*Documentation, tools, techniques within the requirements and acceptance management process
*Progressive acceptance activities needed as an integral part of the requirement management process

How this course will help your career

The CAPAC RM course builds on working experiences acquired in the CAPAC fields, or through completion of prior courses. Successful completion of this course will further develop your CAPAC knowledge and skills and set the foundations to become one of the next generation of leaders and managers that deliver military capabilities to the front line and support them through life. If you successfully complete the course, you will be awarded the JPA “Awareness” educational CAPAC competency.

This course is also suitable for UK military personnel and MOD civil servants from Front Line Commands and enabling organisations including DE&S and Defence Digital who have a role as a requirements manager.
