The aim of the Diversity and Inclusion Practitioner course is to prepare military and Civil Service personnel to perform duties as a DD&I (P) at unit, establishment and formation headquarters level.
- articulate current diversity and inclusion strategy, policies, initiatives and benefits in order to promote a whole force inclusive working environment
- understand the importance of a whole force inclusive working environment and how it relates to the overall workplace diversity and inclusion culture to assist the Diversity and Inclusion Adviser in improving the overall climate of the unit
- provide appropriate support to all personnel on diversity and inclusion issues and to signpost as required for further support and help in relation to raising complaints relating to discrimination, bullying, harassment and/or abuse
- identify when and how to take action against any unacceptable behaviour
- support with the delivery of effective diversity and inclusion training
Taking relevant action against any inappropriate behaviour in support of creating a whole force inclusive working environment.
This course will enhance your understanding of issues surrounding equality, diversity and inclusion, developing skills such as active listening and recognising inappropriate behaviour.
Delegates attending this course are recognised as being the “change agents”, supporting colleagues when they have been subject to inappropriate behaviour and proactively developing a whole force inclusive working environment.

Before applying for this course please ensure that you have:
- completed Diversity and Inclusion Fundamentals on line course within the last 12 months, achieving a pass mark of at least 80%
- completed relevant Single Service or MOD Civil Service diversity and inclusion mandatory training
There will be pre-course activity of between 4-6 hours.

Following successful completion of all course pre-requisites and assessments you will be eligible to apply for the CMI Level 4 Award in Management and Leadership qualification, which is self-funded.
