About this course

The Joint Media Practitioner Course (JMPC) is mandatory prior to deployment in a media operations role or for personnel fulfilling a role as a unit media officer. It is a two-week residential course that will provide you with training in the planning, creation, and assessment of communication activity within the framework of a received higher communications plan. 

What you will learn

You will learn skills that enable you to plan, create, and assess communication activity within the framework of a received higher communications plan. These include how to create a press release, manage social media accounts, and host a press conference.

JMPC will provide you with a solid foundation of skills and will enable further development if you are orientating your career towards media in defence. Depending on rank and career aspirations, the completion of JMPC may also enable you to apply for the Joint Media Operations Planning Course (JMOPC).
