About this course

Pre-Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (Pre-RMAS) Phase A is a 10-week course that is delivered three times a year, starting in February, May and September.

The course is ideal for international students who will attend the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, but first require additional English language training, or to develop your basic military discipline and ethos.

The course is delivered entirely in English.

What you will learn

Pre-RMAS Phase A develops the English language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing military and general English to STANAG Level 2.

You will develop:

  • assimilation into the British military through drill, leadership development, physical fitness, navigation training and decision-making exercise
  • a wider understanding of military and British culture through lessons and cultural trip

Pre-RMAS Phase A is an excellent opportunity for you to gain insight into the British military prior to attending RMAS.

Students who are proficient in English but have no military experience will benefit immensely from this course.

Who can attend this course

Pre-RMAS Phase A is open to internationals who have been offered a place at RMAS.

Before you attend

Participants are expected to have International English Language Testing System level 4.5 or equivalent.
