This course is delivered by Cranfield University on behalf of the Defence College for Military Capability Integration, Defence Academy.

Primarily aimed at professional engineers who have already received training in the basics of force protection engineering and field fortifications. It will give a wider and deeper understanding in the field enabling those who attend to be able to produce safe force protection designs.

This course is essentially practical with much of the learning based on individual assignments and group interaction.

*design of structures to resist accidental explosions
*fences, barriers, cctv and perimeter security systems

Who can attend this course
Military
Internationals

*UK Defence and OGDs, UK List X companies and Allied Military.
*Due to some official sensitive material – personnel attending need to have SC or equivalent.
*All non UK attendees are subject to MOD approval.
*It is expected that students attending the RE FPE L3 course will hold one/both of the following:
*A higher education qualification in a related engineering subject (e.g. HND or above in Civil or Military Engineering.A-level Maths (or equivalent) + relevant APEL

How the course will be taught
Face-to-face/ Residential
How you will be assessed

*The course will be assessed using a range of formative and summative assessments.
*Formative assessments will be administered at regular intervals to gain data on students’ progress and should form the basis for action to be taken by both parties to promote success.  Students will be provided with written and verbal feedback by the tutors.
*Summative assessments are undertaken towards the end of the course and will offer a clear indication of whether you have achieved the Training Objectives.  They will assess holistically whether you are competent to carry out the RE FPE L3 Operator role without supervision.
*Practical assessments may be administered via a blend of group and individual project work involving the creation of documents or the application of processes required by the role.
*Theory assessments are to be used to measure the accumulation of knowledge that supports the Learning Objectives required by the role.  These tests can be administered via case studies, short answer questions, group presentations and/or targeted questioning by the tutor.
