Course Information
About this course
This is an evidence-based two day course designed for defence senior leaders tasked with creating a positive environment in which a mentally fit, resilient and productive workforce can thrive. Drawing on the Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment (PERMA) model of positive psychology, concepts are explored through a combination of self-reflection and peer engagement. The course aims to promote greater understanding of the importance of mental fitness and resilience for leaders themselves, and of role-modelling and embedding conducive conditions in their organisations.
The one day preparatory learning accessed via the Defence Learning Environment (DLE), provides awareness of mental fitness and resilience and self-reflection on personal wellbeing. The one day face-to-face (F2F) session continues to build on the preparatory learning and explores in more depth role-modelling and embedding conducive conditions into teams and organisations.
