About this course

This course is run as preparation for the commissioning course short at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). It introduces details of the spiritual support, moral guidance, and pastoral care duties of the Army chaplain and allows new chaplains to reflect theologically on their new environment.

  • Royal Army Chaplains' Department (RAChD) history, traditions and ethos
  • Army concepts, structures and practices
  • the theological underpinnings of chaplaincy
  • world faiths and tri-service chaplaincy

This is a foundation course for all new entrant RAChD chaplains and lays the foundation for all future ministries in the Army.
