The Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI) is proud to celebrate the latest cohort of Ammunition Technician (AT) graduates.

Delivered in partnership between the Defence WOME Engineering School (DWES) and Cranfield University, the AT course offers in-depth training for Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) Junior Non-Commissioned Officers (JNCOs) covering the storage, transportation, distribution and disposal of energetic substances, along with an introduction into explosives ordnance disposal.

Private Josiah Howell was awarded the course’s top student honour and presented with a crystal decanter by The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers. The Company founded in 1623 has military affiliations to the Royal Logistics Corps, focusing on explosive ordnance disposal. The decanter serves as an expression of gratitude and solidarity with the armed forces.

Private Howell said:

“The course has been challenging but I really enjoyed it.  I feel that I now have a strong foundation of knowledge and think I am well prepared for the next phase at Kineton.  The training team have been really supportive throughout the course and have given me real insight into the challenges I am likely to face as a technician in the years to come."

DCMCI is the Defence Academy’s technical college delivering integrated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) focused education and training.
