On 25 November 2025, more than 70 firms from defence industry gathered in the Cormorant Building, Defence Academy, for the Industry Expo, a key feature of the ‘Managing the Defence Enterprise’ module within the Advanced Command and Staff Course (ACSC).

The Expo provides a unique platform for course members, MOD personnel, and industry representatives to connect, exchange ideas, and build enduring networks that will shape defence capability now and into the future.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees explored a diverse range of established and emerging technologies, with live demonstrations and in-depth discussions showcasing innovation across the defence sector.
This year marks a significant milestone: 2025 is the first year the Expo has opened its doors to a broad spectrum of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)to display alongside the companies represented by our industry delegates on the three-week module.
Opening the event, Major General Peter Rowell, Chief Executive and Commandant of the Defence Academy, emphasised the importance of collaboration:
“I’m delighted you are here to showcase the ingenuity, drive, and capability of established primes, SMEs, and start-ups—all working towards the shared aim of security and resilience for the United Kingdom in times of uncertainty.
“Today is your moment: to shine a spotlight on the products, services, and ideas that will enable our armed forces to deter, adapt, and prevail. Let us build momentum, forge stronger connections, and commit to working as one team—military and industry united for the defence of our nation.”
The Industry Expo directly supports the Strategic Defence Review’s commitment to invest in UK defence innovation through UK-based companies, reinforcing the vital role of industry in delivering future capability.

ACSC prepares mid-ranking UK and international military officers, as well as civil servants for senior leadership roles, ensuring they are equipped to manage complex defence enterprises in an evolving global security environment.
