About this course

This course is designed to help you understand how departmental costs should be controlled, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and legislation. It will help to explain the importance of working within the limits of delegated authority and the differences between the authority of a budget holder and a budget manager.

It will also look at how to scrutinise expenditure and income proposals against the criteria of regularity, propriety, novel, contentious and value for money, and understand ABC and IYM forecast processes.

This is an awareness level course designed to help you as a supportive role.
